I just want to upgrade non alpine speakers. I have the 7" Uconnect, and no plans for an amp. I put the 77KICK25 4 ohm for the window(WOW). Now I am shopping for some 6.5 speaker for the Metra. I have been all over the forum looking for my answer, and cannot find it. I think the factory are 8 ohm on the dash, and 4 ohm for the knees, so 2.4 ohm total.

My question is what ohm speaker should I put in the knee's 4 or 8 ohm for 6.5". 8 ohm and the 77kick's would match the existing speakers ohm. 4 ohm speakers is what crutchfield recommends, but that would change 2 speaker ohm to 4, I think . Will this harm the 7" Uconnect? Does it even matter?

Thank you

Most everything that's available as a normal driver is going to be a nominal 4 ohm. There are a handful of companies that make other resistance drivers for specific installs but in general, you'll want 4 ohm. 8 ohm will draw less power and thus will not play as "loud".
