Just bought a 392

Congratulations! Way more fun than a Lexus, but I may be biased.

Might see you at the gas station which is the 392's second home (engine requires premium fuel). If you are in DSM area, Costco usually has the best price for premium. The Ankeny location is usually cheaper than the WDSM location.

Yep- they have the exhaust button, it kinda looks like 2 exhaust tips, in my GC or I’d take a pic. Good find, less than 900 21 XR’s were made.

They became official about the time mine was in build late July early August. I debated reordering, but there had already been the first price increase, the XR pkg was the same 4K (for essentially gears, tires, spare carrier, flare extensions, and 1/2”wider wheels) as the Willys that got a long list of upgrades many of which the 392 came with, and likely another 4 month wait. Plus had it rolled into a 22 I would’ve got stuck with the “additional California emissions equipment”. So nope, it worked out OK. I XR’d it except for the wheels for ~the same cost. The additional Ca emissions equipment would have been forever.

@4Lo2Yolo - The way those numbers were first posted I wasn’t clear (still not) if the 898 XR’s were included in the 6417 total or not. The same post gave the 22 numbers of a little under 5600 total with the non and XR numbers posted. (fairly evenly split)

I wondered the same thing. But it looks as if Jeep sold so many 392's in 21' that they decided to favor production of XR's in 22'.

Late availability, when I investigated cancel and reorder early August the dealer said it was too late since it was in build but I could reorder and he would sell the ordered one. He couldn’t even verify the 392 XR gear ratio so I’m not sure they could be ordered yet since I chose not too. Don’t know when production started.

I know when I first ordered mine there were restrictions and it would affect my price when it arrived.
