Hey all, I’m wondering if anyone has any experience or ideas on how to attach the Suntop U4 Fastback Windows (https://thesuntopusa.com/collections/jeep-jl/products/jl-fastback-windows-u4) without the corresponding top. I currently have a Smittybilt Cloak Extended Mesh Top (https://www.northridge4x4.com/part/shade-tops/97500-smittybilt-cloak-extended-mesh-top) and am looking at picking up their MOLLE Sport Bar Cover (https://www.extremeterrain.com/smittybilt-jeep-wrangler-molle-sport-bar-cover-kit-5667201.html). I am looking to be able to fully enclose my Wrangler while out, and I want to retain my existing top to do so. Suntop is the only company I’ve seen who sells fastback windows separately from the tops, but I’m open to other brands as well

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can provide.

Cheers,
Mike

I think the Suntop has brackets that comes with the top part that are required for the windows to connect to the Jeep. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure I read it on the install guide.

I'm going on a limb that because you're using a mesh top, you're not worried about rain, you just want to keep stuff from flying out or limit opportunistic theft?

It's not a fastback, but Master top makes a tonneau/back window that looks to mostly close up the back if you have the OEM soft top door surrounds and tailgate bar... (or you could get those through Mopar parts)

Another option is Raingler cargo nets, which can be ordered with a mesh between the webbing, so, probably pretty secure, but there look to be some perimeter gaps (maybe they can do something to close those up if you ask em though)

The Smittybilt top I have has the ability to do completely open, mesh cover, and solid cover, so I’m actually looking for solid fastback windows in order to keep the rain off of both the vehicle occupants and the cargo area.

Gotcha. It might be a tall order to get rain coverage with mismatched systems, especially back seaters because of the roll bar bend being in front of the rear headrests.

The Suntop windows require the top part for some special hardware that changes the contour of the roll bar to move the bend behind the headrests, plus the rear door surround attachment part. You might be able to modify it to stay put, but it'll likely be floppy without the custom bits.

So basically, I’d need to find someone who is selling, for parts, a full kit with a broken top, and then Frankenstein it from there.

lol.. yeah, sounds about right; but even then, your Smittybilt top stops on the inside of the rear roll bar, whereas the Suntop extends beyond it, so the rear windows likely will leave a gap at the top. At the very least you're looking at some Chinese-water-torture level of drips coming down onto the heads of your rear passengers.
