JLU hard top damage

Looking for knowledge of possible fixes for this damage, looks like the piece is removable but also looks like it will require fiberglass work?? anyone ever damage this part of a top?

Ouch! Something hit that hard enough to pop the panel loose. I’m sure it can be fixed try a body shop that works on Corvettes or a boat shop.

Keep in mind the top is made of Sheet Moulding Compound not fiberglass and needs a resin for that. Fiberglass resin won’t adhere that well.

Consider reading this post and reaching out to the man who deliberately breaks apart hard tops and them puts them seamlessly back together (so they store flat.) I bet he has ideas...or maybe simply clicking on the link in this post may give you inspiration/insight.

Top pic looks like you have 3 cracks to fix. Or Reflections?

What I did with my fredom panel (cracked corner) - used superglue to penetrated into fibers and held it in place until it set (liquid, not gel type). Repeat on the other side.
Make sure you do not have both hands glued to the item, holding pannel together, when home alone (it really sucked).

This glue technique was a recommendation from a body shop.

Sand it few inches on eather side of the crack with 80 to remove all OEM paint and primer, and apply bondo (maybe fiber reinforced bondo in your case). 150 grid on transition from painted to unpainted area.

local dealer had a black painted top they are giving me that has some cosmetic damage, gets the leaky one off until I can get a new one. just have to switch some side windows out...... thanks for the input everyone
