Sorry for the long post...
Back in November of 2019, an order was place for a JLR with 6-speed manual gear box and a hard top.
The Jeep arrived in December and it was amazing. Much more refined than my CJ.
Like most things Jeep, first, the mods started slow, but the situation quickly developed a life of its own.
I met this guy named Diezel who does amazing work.
What seem like a blink of an eye (i.e., at 800 miles), RK 3.5" lifts w/long arms in the rear, 37's w/beadlocks, Artec skids, hydraulic bump stops, NVM diff skids, etc. were installed
The JLR turned out to be an absolute beast.
Details on the build can be found here

Though as amazing this JLR is for weekend trips and adventures, it has its limitations as a DD.
Since the JLR was not all that great of a DD, let's try a Tacoma w/manual as a DD.
Good truck, decent mileage, great reliability, etc., why not.
Turns out, a Tacoma does a nice job as a DD, but not nearly as much fun as compared to a JLR.
May seem strange, but I like the whole Jeep wave thing.
To make the DD more fun, what about a another JLR, but with half doors and a soft top?
That sounds fun.
So around Feb 14, an order was placed for a black JLR with a 6-speed gear box, soft top, and half doors.
With the order placed, now comes the waiting.
The guy who placed the order is a pretty cool person and gives me updates as to the status about once a week. Like most orders, stuck in D1 status. First with a ship date of 4/1/2022, then 4/2/2022.
I was hopefully optimistic, but didn't want to get my expectations too high regarding the 4/2/2022 date.
Since there is all this craziness with chip shortages, shipping challenges, worker shortages, not sure when the status would change from D1 (getting parts) to having a status showing the build sheet.
Well today, 4/1/2022, the Jeep tracking link now shows a build sheet!
Maybe the JLR will be built soon.
Of course there is the waiting for transport part, but, if I am lucky, the JLR will arrive soon after it is built.
Hope to post some pictures soon.
