Installed side steps and door sill protectors on my naked JL today. Sills were simple 3M double sided tape which fit perfectly. Even has the bump out for the raised bolt. These came from Quadratec. Here’s the link https://www.quadratec.com/p/quadratec/custom-fit-entry-guards-jeep-wrangler-jl-jt

Also installed 4” drop side steps from ExtremeTerrain. These came well packaged and color coded (bubble wrap) for each side. Easy bolt on install and look pretty nice. All powder coated in a matte finish. Perfect for my needs. The new ride is shaping up! Here’s the link to these… https://www.extremeterrain.com/tac-...nning-boards-textured-black-tac-jds9-022.html

I have the sill protectors. I like them. I'm torn on drop steps. I don't wheel anywhere that I would like drag but the thoughts I "might" nags my OCD 😂
Edit: it's nice to see another 2 door!
Edit 2 for autocorrect lol

My Jeep replaced a 350 Z convertible that I really enjoyed but became impractical as I do a lot of mountain biking and couldn’t take my bikes with it. I also have a huge long bed crew cab diesel F350 that I didn’t want to use for that purpose either. The Jeep still gives me that 2 seater, convertible feel but now I can take it anywhere and it’s practical. I’ll never hit any harsh trails beyond gravel, so for me it’s all about practicality and ease of use. Next up will be hood struts, locking hood latches and LED headlights 🤙🏼

I had those same side steps, when doing Fun Run BOH trail in Hot Springs the passenger side step got torn up after getting hung up on a boulder. Be careful when rock crawling.

I can see how that would happen with pretty much any side step, but rock crawling isn’t in my future. Just simple dirt and gravel roads to get to my mountain bike destinations 😉

I chose the Rock Slide Engineering steps for my 2023 JL Turbo Diesel because the the step is tucked up inside the slider. I had the AMP steps on my JK and had to be very careful on trails with big rocks. They cost $$ but I believe they are worth it.

On my 23 Wrangler Rubi 2 Dr., I went the Wrangler Sill Plate and the Mopar Rock Sliders.

I have the factory sill protectors and that looks so much cleaner, especially with the moulded in bump for the body bolt. Why couldn't Mopar come up with that, sill protectors are not rocket science.

Name or link to these? Simple and clean I like
I got them on Amazon. Rugged Ridge XHD Rock Sliders.
I like them too, enough of a step for when you need it, and offers actual protection for the frame. Not much sticks out that would cause a problem on boulders, but I haven’t rock crawled with them yet.
