Here is a picture of how the skid is in relationship to the frame. And the second is the bracket attaching the skid to the frame piece.

JL axles pretty much fit on a JK. Front one fits ideally. Rear needs shock mounting bracket angle change, but otherwise they do fit. I've done it.

Antenna base is the same part from JK to JL - the aftermarket billet one I had on my JK is the only part that got to switch over to the JL (aside from my dashboard Hula Girl, lol).

I know the front bumpers work, I have a JK hard rock steel bumper on mine, what about the matching winch plate?

I got the hard rock/10th anniversary bumper to fit pretty easily, I wallowed out the holes on my JL and put the strengthening plates between the JL mount and the bumper (since the JL didn’t use any) to push it out slightly. I now think I might have just been able to swap tow hooks instead of making the holes bigger. I used my plastic bumper fog light harness and put its LED fog lights in the bumper (I already had the light adapters). Skid plate fit and protects the sway bar disconnect although I had to make adapters to mount the bottom to the hangy down part of the JL where the brace of the plastic bumper connected.

Are there any differences among JK model years? Meaning would a 2013 JK front bumper fit just as well as a 2017 JK? Thanks!

Yes all JK bumpers are the same, so it should not matter from 2007-2018 as long as it is a JK.

Would anyone happen to know if Max coverage Bushwacker JK fender flares would fit on a JL? I have seen multiple manufacturers advertise fender flares for 2007-2020 Wranglers and I need something with extra wide coverage. Thinking I can have fabricator modify the Bushwackers to add a place for JL fender lights.

I know the doors wont fit, partly because of the new windshield design. but what about tube doors. specifically for the back? Looking to get a set of doors for the kids and no doors for the front. can still find JK tube doors for a reasonable price. so is it all doors dont fit?

Thinking not likely as the JL is just a little wider than JK.

Figured this is the appropriate place to share this info. Body Armor front trail doors from a JK fit on a JL. Not sure if the rear do.

Front fit because the hinges and latch are all bolt on, and when you loosen them there is enough play to realign to the new catch on the JL. The JK version are cheaper than JL, but not much. Sorry no pics, was starting to rain lol

Compiling a list of known 'fits' and 'do not fits' as discovered by members when it concerns porting over JK parts. This mostly just concerns aftermarket parts, but could include other more general parts too.

Please note it is impossible to say that because an item fits, that it is safe to assume all versions of that item fit. For example front bumpers do work, but to say ALL aftermarket front bumpers will bolt right up is unknown. Some bumpers required extra drilling on the JK so might require extra drilling on a JL. While other bumpers like wide bumpers may contact the frame on a JL.....so please use this as general information.

Lift Spacers/Spring Spacers - may or may not fit, there are inconsistencies at this time (REFER TO POST #21)
Front Bumpers - Fit (thanks to @jericbarg)
Rear Bumpers - Do not fit (thanks to @jericbarg)
Rock Rails - Do not fit
Budget boost upper spacers front and rear - fit (thanks to @jericbarg)
Wheels are 5x5 - Fit (note that lug nuts are not compatible)
Lug Nuts - Do not fit (JL is metric 14mm x 1.50, JK is SAE 1/2 - 20) (thanks to @jericbarg)
Doors (to include half and tube doors) - Do not fit (thanks to @TPFilm1994)
Factory Hitch- Fit (thanks to @17FreedomChief)

I will keep updating this as more info is found so we can try to keep it all in one place!

Anyone know if a MetalCloak draglink and Tierod from a JK will fit on a JL?

JK TPMS (tire pressure sensors) operate on a different frequency and can't be read by JL head units 2022 and later (not sure about pre 2022 - I've heard that jeep made the change to new frequency transmitters in 2021?)

I have a set of JK rubicon wheels that look amazing and run just fine (with my existing lug nut). But the TPMS won't synch. And yes, I could take the TPMS from my original steel JL wheels but that falls into the category of $10/tire to make the switch or a lot of work at home breaking beads on 10 tires.
