I have been having some on going issues with my 2021 Jeep Wrangler Willys Unlimited since I purchased it. Most were annoying, but not a safety issue.
The main issue is the Jeep has been losing power randomly. It’s happened a few times on backroads and now twice on a highway. The most recent incident put me in a dangerous situation. Check engine light on I95 in the fast lane and had to cross four lanes of traffic to get out of the way of traffic still going full speed. The dealership has now had the car 14 days. They advised they couldn’t replicate the issue and aren’t taking it seriously. They don’t offer loaners and I’ve been forced to borrow an old TJ to get back and forth to work. It’s frustrating because I paid just over 50k for this car brand new. It was taken into the dealer being less then two years old, but has over 26k miles so I’m not sure if I can lemon law the car.
I’ve read about bad grounds, PCMs being bad and possibly pedals. Not sure what to do.
Have already had coolant leaks repaired after a breakdown.
Radio gets locked into calls and I have to pull a fuse to shut the radio off.
Traction control issues.
Rear defrost hasn’t worked since I bought the car.
the worst issue is the customer service. Can’t seem to find a dealer that isn’t rude .
anyone have a good contact at a Jeep dealer in CT or Jeep car care?
I’ve had a JK in past with no issues and borrowing a TJ from a d family member with 156k miles. Both these cars were great. Seems like my JL is just a lemon. I’ve already tried to trade the car in and getting horrible offers around 30k. Don’t think it’s fair I have to lose 20k on a car Jeep can’t seem to fix.
anyone else have a similar experience?

Today, I had this issue. My Jeep was driving just fine when I received a random message about the Blind Spot Monitoring service. It was quick, so I didn't get a chance to read it exactly. Then, I lost power to the Jeep, and the engine shut off. I was able to safely drive it off the road.

The symptoms were as follows: no response from the push start button or lights, the center dome light was on, and occasionally the four map lights would flicker, but mostly they were off. Hazard lights were displayed on the dash, but the driver-side rear light wasn't working, while the front two and passenger rear did work. Additionally, the key fob wouldn't lock or unlock the door. The dash did display push brake to start engine sign.

The resolution was simple. I had recently installed a negative cable for a DC/DC Charger in the trunk. The negative lead I used was under the trim on the driver-side rear. I hadn't torqued down the bolt, and this caused all the issues.

This car ended up as a lemon law buyback. Jeep doesn’t care and in the end I was without a car for 6 plus months. They were not capable of fixing the car. Had me wait 4 months with no car or loaner for the buyback and then had the balls to no show me at the buyback appointment they made 70 miles from my home.
In work in the auto industry and tell as many people as possible. This company cost me 20plus grand in time missed from work and the horrible buyback offer I was forced to take.
I’ll miss the Wrangler but got a TRD 4Runner and very happy. At 5k miles with zero issues. My Jeep had 2 break downs before its first oil change. Almost killed me 3-4 times randomly dying on the highway. Jeep never even apologized for missing the appointment.

So sorry to hear this, but I'm also not surprised. Just glad you are over it now and enjoying your 4Runner. When you stated that your Willys was "losing power," did you mean engine or electrical? If the former, may I ask what engine you had?

hi,
I believe the issue was electrical. I had the 2 liter turbo motor. Dealership only found fueling issue codes and changed the fuel pump. The car would stop accelerating, but not stall. You could floor it and it wouldn’t go any faster. Th car would slowly lose speed till you pulled over. Happened dozens of time. Pulled over and shut the car off. Start it back up and normally it would be fine. It eventually trough a CEL. It was on the last trip to the dealership and I think someone cleared the codes. Honestly I didn’t trust a word they were saying.
It was never fixed. The last of many trips to dealerships it died in the parking lot before I even left the lot. They had it 45 days and gave it back covered in bird shit.
im really picky about my cars and it was ceramic coated since new. Overall I’ve never had any company treat me worse Jeep did.

Thanks for clarifying and sorry you had such a rough time. I am also pretty particular about my vehicles, even if they are a "lower" trim package like my 2-door Sport. I keep my vehicles for as long as possible, which is why service, parts, and warranty are important factors to consider with any new purchase. Like you, I've had some terrible experiences with dealerships that:

A) Don't know anything about the vehicles they sell.
B) Perform shoddy, careless service, sometimes even damaging a vehicle in the process.
C) Don't admit their own errors.
D) Don't take care of your vehicle when it's in their custody, sometimes even returning it with obvious damage or missing parts.
E) Try to sell you "critical services" that aren't needed.
F) Make light of mechanical, electrical, or cosmetic issues because they don't want to be bothered with them.

As you well know, this list could be much longer, but there's not enough bandwidth on this forum to accommodate everything! While I have encountered some good dealerships over the years, there's still no excuse for the terrible ones that will make me look elsewhere for my next vehicle purchase. Unless something dramatic changes with Stellantis's business model, workmanship, QC, and customer service, my JL will be the last Jeep I ever own. Glad that you eventually rectified the situation and moved on, but I realize it cost you significant time and money. In any case, best of luck with your new truck and don't look back!
