Don't know if I ever did this- it's fun!

My name is Elise and I am in Maryland (outside of DC). I got a black Wrangler JLU Sport S January 29th- first Jeep! I have been wanting one, seriously, since I can remember. When the 4 door came out years ago I made up my mind that I would be getting one at some point. Fast forward to finding out there would be a redesign and here I am, living my dream! This is my daily driver and so far I LOVE the way it rides, I have been getting surprisingly good gas mileage, and everyone in my family (and all my friends LOL) love it! Excited to be a part of this awesome and helpful community!

And GO STEELERS also, originally from Pittsburgh!
I’ve never been big on stickers on my vehicles, but I already have a Steelers emblem ready & waiting to go on!

I have an SNU plate frame I received as a freebie! Plate frame on the front, sticker on the back. I show my Steelers pride coming & going! :handsinair:

Hello my fellow Jeepsters! - I'm Jake!

First time Jeep owner, but I've been eyeing Wranglers most of my life. Off and on again; and when the wife said: "On our next car get what you want..." Well, I knew it was time! (side note: I love that woman - she is awesome). I've been following multiple threads for months, and let me just say THANK YOU. To all of you for your comments, your heart ache and frustration through the process, all the way to the JOY of finally taking possession of your beloved JL. To the admins - WELL DONE. More than half the reason I chose the Jeep route was for the great community. So, what did I get. Well... it was a tough decision, and believe it or not, I think the hardest part for me was choosing a color. I apologize to the Blubicon lovers out there... not a bad color at all, it looks good, but it just wasn't meant to for me... I have gone to the dark side.. Yesterday, I went to the dealer and settled on a Black JLUR. They actually had one (almost) to the specs I wanted, and I was soooo tempted, but ordered exactly what I wanted and can't wait to go through the agony of the build process that many of you have gone through. Due to this great forum, I was able to go into the dealer with more knowledge than the guy that had been helping me over the past few months, and was able to get a comparable deal to the 5% below invoice thread. Again, thanks to everyone.

Bring on the build status' -- Lets Do THIS!

Looking forward to reading more, seeing more, and providing input (where I can).

Hello everyone.

Well, my name is Doug, and I ordered my third Rubicon yesterday. Fully loaded, Punk’n Metallic, 2018 JLUR. Don’t even have the VON yet….

I ordered my first Rubicon back in 2003 when the Rubicon was supposed to be a limited-run, one-time deal…. It was not my first Jeep by any means, but it was my first brand new one. I had grown tired of flat towing my CJs up to the North Georgia mountains or Tellico, NC; breaking them, and then dragging them back home to repair! That 2003 TJ Rubicon was great, great, fun. I mildly modified it and went off-roading at least once month for years. Went everywhere in it including Moab, which is where my Avatar picture was taken.

In 2008, I bought a 4-door JK Rubicon and have loved it as well. Not as much off-roading with it… Yet. I continued to wheel in my TJ for the most part. Only recently modified the JK and began off-roading it. It has been fun as well.

Current plans are to keep the JL “close” to stock for a while and continue to wheel in the JK… We shall see how long that lasts…..

Anyway, glad to find this JL forum and I look forward to being a lurker and an occasional poster.

Doug

Hey Everyone!

My name is Joe and I live in Aiken, SC right on the Georgia border. I have had 3 Grand Cherokees and have always loved the Jeep brand but finally made the switch to a Wrangler with my 2018 JLU Sport S. I am so excited for all the adventures my rescue and I will have in this vehicle and I look forward to getting to know many of you here!

Welcome Strifeborn. I spent almost 20 years in Athens, GA. Loved that part of the country. Have you done any wheeling around there in the past?

Thanks Doug! It really is a nice quiet part of the South :)

I have actually never done any serious wheeling in any of my Grand Cherokees, just some light off-roading to camp etc. Looking forward to figuring out what is around me here!

It has been 10 years since I have been wheeling in that part of the country so my reocmmendations would not be worth much.... I know the place I liked the best (Tellico, NC) is closed. If you want to get into wheeling, try to find a local club that is friendly to newcomers and folks with stock rides. May be hard to find, but they exist. I was in a great club in the Atlanta area called "Southern Jeeps." Probably too far away for you and I am not sure that particular club still exists. Anyway, have fun. Just finding and running some of the forest roads in that area will be fun!

Hi everyone!

New to the forum. First car was a Green 2000 Jeep wrangler Sahara. Have had a Commander and Cherokee, but I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on ordering a new Rubicon. Have really enjoyed reading all the info on here and hope I can contribute.

Thanks,
Adam

Hello!

New member here. I’m not currently a member of the Jeep family but I plan to join soon. Lifelong gear head but I’ve never owned a Jeep before. It seems like a lot of fun and utility, so I decided to make my next project an older Jeep restoration. After finding it difficult in my area to find an older one (CJ7) in good condition that wasn’t absurdly overpriced, I decided to skip the whole “spend tons of money, time, and sweat on an old vehicle bringing it into great condition” and just spend a few more bucks and buy a brand new one with bells, whistles, and modern conveniences.

So I’ve decided that with the new JL platform the time is right for me to get a Jeep. Some time later this year I’ll be getting a JLU Rubicon and doing some mild to moderate more to it.

I’m Mike, from Hopatcong NJ - formerly from the more urban side of NJ. Not currently a Jeep owner, but after my wife got her Jeep Liberty and driving it a few times, I’m definitely interested in a Wrangler for my own next vehicle.

I’m looking at the 2 door Sport S with a few extras, but if I can swing it, a 2 door Rubicon would definitely be sweet
