I just picked up a new 2021 Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon a week ago. I have a question about the backlighting on the instrument panel below the screen and on the steering wheel. This includes the radio dials, heating and air conditioning controls, etc. below the screen and buttons for cruise control, phone and driver information screen on the steering wheel.
I find there is backlighting in these areas only when the lights are on. If lights are off, such and driving with the lights in the auto position during the day, there is no backlighting. Is this normal or should there always be backlighting in these areas? I find it’s hard to see these buttons driving during the day, especially with sunglasses on.
if there is only backlighting when the lights are on, is there a way to change it so they are always backlit?
