2019 JLUR, 3.6L, 6 speed. 8.4 Uconnect system. The display in the instrument panel cluster when out a few weeks back. Digging on the forum, many have replaced the LCD screen to get it back online. In my case, I do not believe the screen itself is defective as it has come back on from time to time, sometimes for a flash, sometimes for a couple minutes. Backlight on the screen is still functional too. Both the speedometer and the tachometer are functional and have never malfunctioned.

All of this leads me to think there is a loose connection somewhere. Got to thinking that it may be a CANBUS connection issue at the connector behind the glovebox. If the speedo and tach get their info from the same canbus connection as the display then I can rule out that connection being bad. It would then be likely a bad connection inside the IPC.

Loss of the IPC display has been an annoyance, primarily not having a fuel level reading. I've been using Jscan to read full level to get me by but I would really like to fix this.

Anyone have any idea if the IPC is fed one canbus signal, and if the tach, speedo and display all get their info from the canbus?

There may be an easy way to troubleshoot the issue with the TFT (not LCD :)) screen.

While the engine is running and someone is sitting in the driver's seat to observe the center screen, a helper should gently wiggle each individual wire in each of the two CANBUS blocks behind the glove box door. Doing so accomplishes two things: it ensures each plug is correctly seated, and may identify the problematic connection(s) if wiggling one or more such plugs causes the TFT screen to illuminate correctly, or, if it already illuminated, then cause it to go dark.

This is a DIY first step that will only cost you your time.

My Cluster had the exact same issues. Would come on like normal and eventually it would cut back off. A lot of flickering and the needles and needle lights would stay on but the screen was the one cutting out and on. Dont believe my issue was related to any canbus items. I didnt touch my canbus but sent my cluster to United Radio to be fixed for a very reasonable price. IMO, you should move forward with the cluster being the problem.

Thanks for the feedback. Sounds like I will be pulling the cluster once winter takes a break, lol.

It wasn’t too bad at all to remove. I would just go slow with the plastic clips since they are prone to breakage
