If you have driven a zr2 or a land rover maybe some other brands too. You have likely seen an off-road gauge window or screen that tells what your angles are. Front to rear side to side what is locked an what is not. Axel wise. Will the jl have this?

Just read the unconnect portion of the manual. I have a few questions. Seems like there are 2 USB type an A and C c takes priority. So if you are using a flash drive for music and a flash drive for topo maps. Will the A type not transfer data ? Android seems to have better topo map type options ( I think) so would it be better to get an android. Phone and Uconnect android radio? Could you Google earth from the radio if you didn't have a cell signal but set up a hot spot.? For navigating off road without a cell signal. Which would you go with and why?

From my previous reading it said last connected takes priority for media, not sure about other files.

Will check again once I get a chance.

What page was the section mentioning priority based on class vs mose recently connected?

flash drive for topo maps
Is this supported? If it is, will it support anything but maps from FCA?

If you're speaking about Android Auto (or CarPlay), very few apps will show up on the UConnect screen. Google Maps is the only map application I'm aware that'll work with Android Auto. You can use offline maps with Google Maps, but no satellite photos or anything.

This is why I'll have a tablet mounted to the dashboard - so I can use the map apps I want

That is exactly what I was asking about. I just went through a lot of time and learning to load most of the open in California on to a Lenovo 10 inch tablet. I was wondering if the same 128 micro sd card would load directly to or connect in some way to a unconnect android based radio. It would have been epic if it had worked. I tired to do this on a test drive of a Chevy Colorado zr2 with an topo app that works on my iPhone but it would not work. However as I write this I wonder if the chevy radio was android or apple based. I though the salesman said it was apple based.
IT seems like a no brainer that you should be able to load topo maps via an sd card to the screen of the radio. Especially on a Jeep. maybe Garmin topo maps would work any thoughts?

No, for the average person this is not an option. I have a friend who could side-load this on the previous 430 for me, but it needs special Garmin tools, and is a pain in the A$$.

I too wish they made it easier, heck... evn just Lifetime Maps would be nice, but being able to simply add the Backountry Maps again would be great instead of using the App.

This is what I had loaded on my old Rubi’s 430.

Yes that would do it especially if they made a North American or USA one
If for some reason I don't end up with a jl and instead get anew. Jku theni will go with an. Insane audio and load in back county or topo usa or hell both of them. I wonder if the radio is made by or made for Chrysler

I still have hope that within four years, one of the 3rd party Android map apps will add Android Auto support. Trouble is, the average age of a car on the U.S. roads is 11+ years. Even then, many new cars may don't have Android Auto option installed. Not a large user base, unfortunately. It'll happen, but who can say when.
Shit, ignore myself above. Google does not allow 3rd party map apps on Android Auto. I assume Apple will be the same :(

But its not all bad! There's Android Auto support for Audible, Spotify a few other audio focused apps.
