The rubber on the stock shifter was degrading. I kept picking at it while I was driving and my fingernail could dig out little bits of it. Instead of buying another stock knob I went on the prowl and found Speed Dawg's website. They had officially licensed Mopar shift knobs so it can say Jeep, Rubicon, Wrangler, etc. on the side (I went with Jeep since the font looked the best.) and racing stripes.

You can get an assortment of color options to match paint or whatever.

I debated on black font on ivory or red font on white but settled on gray font on black to keep with the chrome & black color scheme as I didn't want it to be an overly noticeable change. I think it came off perfectly.
The adaptor raises the shifter which I was a little annoyed with because the neck looks a bit longer and the reverse shifter is further away but I'm actually starting to be ok with it because my arm can just rest on its higher placement. I think of higher shift knobs are more of a custom muscle car thing but it's growing on me.

They also offer matching 4wd knob but that knob's rubber was still firm and the pics I've seen online of matching custom shifters looks like your console is covered in balls which looked a little weird.

Here's a link to all of their Jeep shift knobs https://www.speeddawg.com/jeep-wrangler-shift-knobs/. You just want the graphic to match your shift pattern (6 speed, Reverse in upper left) and the req'd adaptor is 16mm x 1.50 (but don't quote me on that. Just them call to confirm.)

Install was maybe 5-15min. I used a hammer and a wood chisel to wack the factory knob up and off. You have to screw the adaptor on about a 1/4-1/2" raised from the base for the reverse shift to have its range to engage. If you can't shift into reverse after installing, you'll know what I'm talking about. Freaked me out for a second but the instructions mention it anyways.

Posting because I am pretty happy with how it turned out and didn't want it to look dumb since I didn't want to yank out something from the interior and it not look decent.
