Hey guys, new to the Wrangler community. Traded in my Gladiator for a 2-door. Now we have our first born son arriving soon! I need help finding a rear facing infant car seat that will fit. My S/O has a 4-door and we have the Chicco KeyFit 35 that works in hers. Just is too big to fit in mine while still allowing her to sit in the front seat. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Sort of, kinda retired....mostly
That’s one of the trade offs having a 2-door. The better rated (safest) car seats require you to move the seat pretty far forward in order to fit. I’ve tried 3 different ones and they all fit about the same.

Like Dave said, it's gonna be tough to find a good rated seat that will be on the smaller side.

I highly recommend the clicktight line from Britax. May not be much smaller than the others, but it is infinitely easier to install than most other car seats and will save you time, sweat, and curse words when you're trying to get the seat installed in the tight rear seat space of your 2 door. This is clutch when taking the car seat in and out often as I remove the seat for solo wheeling and camping trips.

Britax has seats that are both rear and forward facing, so it will be a one and done purchase. My daughter is 6 now and she's been in hers from day one. We'll finally be moving into a booster soon!

We used to have the Graco Premier SnugRide SnugFit 35 XT, and although it lived in my wife's Cherokee, I had no problems putting it in my 2dr when needed. Front seat space was not ideal, but it really wasn't much worse than in her Cherokee.

We've since moved to the Evenflo Revolve360 Extend (highly recommend after also trying Graco's 360 and Maxi Cosi's 360), which very surprisingly seemed to offer more space in her Cherokee. While I have not yet tried it in my 2dr, I would assume a similar outcome.

The nice thing about the Snugfit was it was light, snapped into the stroller, and multiple bases makes moving between vehicles easy. But by 7-8months, he seems to big for it (padding was thin, so at his weight, we think it wasn't comfortable). The Revolve360 is like a LazyBoy! and the 360 feature is great for getting him in and out.

i really liked our Infants snug fit from Graco. Thus i don't have a two door but it did work great in my work truck extended cab ( The smaller four door cab for Silverado's ) with her being a toddler now the new seat I have to run the seat forward all the way in the truck now but it is what it is

We have the keyfit 35 that worked with the base in our 4dr as well, but it doesn't work with the base with my f150 extended cab.

Have you tried putting the seat in without the base? you just use the seat belt to secure it, it's very easy. You'd still probably have to slide up the passenger seat and fold the handle forward, and then once belted in, slide the seat back against the seat and fold the handle back against the seat.
