How many chimes on startup is normal?!

I get one, none, three, you name it. It seems really random. Is there some reason behind the number (or lack of) chimes on startp?
Curious Jeepers wanna know.

I only ever remember getting a chime or two when I get into accessory mode (press run button without foot on the brake). Iirc, one was for battery in a not charging condition (I think) and probably the other for not having my seat belt fastened or one of the doors open.

Not 100% sure, but those and things like having your hood open or your fob away from the vehicle might trigger an alert chime (think the horn also beeps if the vehicle's actually running and the fob is too far away). Service reminders and low tire pressure would probably be another cause.

I also get chimes when shutting the engine off but leaving the lights on (anything other than off and auto). Should be a message on your cluster display or a dummy light lit up to correspond with whatever audible alert you're hearing.

Wow. I never notice the chimes at all. I'm just listening for the reassuring sound of the engine actually starting.
