This is probably incredibly simple but I cannot seem to figure out how. This is my first JL. I have the 7" screen and for the life of me I cannot figure out how to keep my screen turned on without the radio being on as well. I want the infotainment to be available without having to have the volume turned all the way down when I don't feel like listening to music.

Right now the only solution I've found is to have it set to bluetooth audio and just have nothing playing on my phone. But it seems like there should be an option to just nix the radio altogether.

I'm usually really good with figuring out tech, and this seems like it should be such a simple thing, so I feel like an idiot for asking. But it's driving me crazy. Please help!

Thanks! :)

Doesn't your climate control panel have a mute? I can't remember since driving it yesterday!

I do have a mute button. Will that still allow things like navigation and texts to come through though?

You could have it set to bluetooth on your phone but pause the media.

It should, the Uconnect in my daily ram is slightly different, but it controls audio/nav/phone with seperate volume functions. You just need to adjust the volume while the function is playing (like turn up nav volume while nav is speaking)

@Tethmes

Don't use mute button...

With the radio playing music, turn the volume down enough so you do not hear the music. Until you re-adjust the volume for radio music, the volume will be as you set it.... you will not hear the music.

Now, when using Nav, that has it's own separate volume setting. When GPS is displayed, adjust volume for that so you can hear the GPS give you travel instructions. Your GPS volume setting is different/separate from radio music volume. When you adjust GPS volume it does not change radio music volume..

Bringing this thread back from the dead. Is there really no way to play/pause your music with any button?

Are you supposed to navigate back to the media screen or pick up your phone every time? I expect there should be a way since there are buttons to skip forward, backward, and stop the media (but it turns off the screen). If somehow this isn’t stock I’m open to coding it with an OBDLink MX+.

I assume you have Uconnect 5, on Uconnect 4C in my Ram, Mute pauses phone audio playback in Carplay.

Yeah on the 2024 system it doesn’t. Very frustrating oversight that you need to go into the screen just to pause. The craziest is the buttons behind the steering wheel don’t pause either, they only go forward/backward.
