Hood prop

Weird one but while working under the bonnet (hood), my prop came away in my hand and I'm thinking there must be a part missing.

The image below is from one I found earlier on the internet and it looks like it has cir-clips or some sort of bush/insert which is missing on mine. If anybody knows or would be so kind as to have a look, maybe grab a picture if you happen to be under there, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Mine looks like a black nylon sleeve and the end of the rod is peened to form two flat wings to keep it from pulling through.

Hate to hop on the bandwagon but dammit I must. I too recommend slapping hood struts on your critter. Prop rods are for rabbit traps…..
