Returned it. Was easy to program, mount, and use. Seemed like it was well made.
The inner drawer is narrower, so The huge Jeep key barely fit in there.. and it wouldn’t have if I had my key ring and any keys attached.
Still, I would’ve kept it if it blocked the remote entry signal.. I was gambling it did, but nope. Could still open doors with it in the hitch. I think I read about people trying wads of foil or some other faraday cage device, but I just returned it.
If I didn’t have remote entry I probably would’ve kept it for parking at the beach or something.
I really miss my old Ford with the keypad on the door!

thanks for the reply.
For me, if I can’t quickly throw my keys in the safe and go then it’s not helpful. I’m usually trying to corral my kids while getting our stuff out.
It’s not worth it to take a battery out of my fob and have separate keys, etc.
For someone without remote entry, having a small spare key in the hitchsafe would be sweet!

This would be great for Base Sport owners, with key only door locks, if the hitch is far enough back so the " press to start " won't work

I liked mine when I had a JKU, but the hand grenade sized JLU Key doesn't fit. I gave this box to @cooltoysdoc for his Taco. It is kinda silly that Jeep is the WSL official vehicle and yet no option to lock and surf? I have a lock box I hang on the rear spare. The standard hardware store key lockboxes are too small for the key too. I bought this one, it is ok. https://amzn.to/2E1I8lS. What I really want is a keyless like the Fords have. Accele RS505 looks promising, anyone install that yet?
