Hitch mount mid size ice chest?

Looking to mount a mid size ice chest outside the JLUR. I bird hunt and don't want the ice chest inside with a couple bird dogs and guns, etc.. Something that won't drag on some steep 2 track trails and allows for the tailgate to open. I'd appreciate your ideas.

allowing the tailgate to open and not dragging off road is mutually exclusive. i have a raised basket type for the rear of mine, and it will drag on some steep trails, and is high enough to impede the tailgate from opening too.

roof rack might be your best option.
