Also thinking very few companies have created shock tunes for the Ecodiesel. Some I’ve talked with have said it’s the same...which I can’t imagine is true with the extra several 100 lbs (think I read 3-400lbs).

We can handle it. Same platform, just slightly heavier. Once we take into consideration the total weight, spring rates and how you will be using the Jeep, it's pretty straight forward. :like:

I have 2021 JL Diesel and have Rebel Off-road front Doublethrow down kit and rear coilover kit on order….

looking on what long arm kit to now…. Was only going to get the Teraflex Kit Long arm, as that seems like what they run in their builds.

So here is what I'm down to based on quite a bit of input from some large builders - including Tank Customs and others. Any opinions on these options?

Down to these suspension choices:
1) Rebel Coilover system (not DSS) and RK adventure no limits long arm kit
2) 3.5" RK adventure X no limits long arm kit
3) Accutune and RK adventure no limits long arm

Issues I've heard with these kits
1) Potential issues with RK coilovers compared to Kings/Fox (Rebel uses Kings).
2) Rebel uses rear coilover RK uses spring/shock. Coilovers don't like extra weight in the rear so RK recommends not doing a coilover system in the rear of the diesel (does this get corrected if I go with adjusters on the coilovers?)
3) Rebel brackets hang down vs the RK brackets

Going with Dynatrac XD60/80

If its mostly constant weight, coilovers can accommodate the added weight. There are a ton more spring rate options for a coilover than options for a JL rear coil spring.

(King and Fox) Adjusters only control the compression damping. This will help keep the suspension from bottoming out quickly which will ultimately smooth out the ride.

Although left field I was also thinking of running 37’s and a small lift for a while then buying the EXS suspension/frame from genright once a delete for the diesel is available.

Unless I’m reading it wrong on the website, do you guys use only 10” coilovers on the front and 12” in the rear?
yes, about 10.8" front and 12" rear yes. Similar for both the 2.0 and 2.5 coilover kit.

There is a very important reason for this too. The coilovers in our kit are custom designed from us and sent to fox to build. They are specific to our kit for a JL Rubicon and get the most usable travel out of a coilover using our brackets which are pretty simple and easy for just about anyone to install. We have done a lot of testing to see what length shock can fit, and these are the best fit. We've seen serious fitment issues with other companies coilover kits using longer travel shocks, which are very appealing, however at full articulation the shocks hit the frame, bad enough to cause serious damage. This is not fixable unless you add more bump stop spacers and or limit straps to limit the wheel travel and lift the Jeep taller... which is probably the opposite of most want for their new JL Rubicon.

What was wrong with them? What did you have to change?

the brackets dont off set out enough causing the shock to hit the frame body, the shocks are really too long for the application. the bracketry fit was a bit of a pain. I cant say I would do coilovers vs standard spring and shock again unless it was fully custom build.
