Hey Gang,

I recently purchased this bumper:
https://www.ariesautomotive.com/part/2082092

The bumper is quite nicely fabricated and very light. Install was ok. However there is one HUGE issue, the factory fog lights do not fit. And neither do aftermarket ones.

I’ve researched all of the brackets and even called Aries (twice) and they were no help. The problem is that the bumper was designed for the fog lights to be removed from their bracket and pushed directly in. This is not possible unless I purchase halogen OEM bulbs which is a no-go for me.

So what do you guys think? Any ideas, suggestions tips? Maybe Aries will chime in.

Pics to show you the mounting holes that do not match up with any mopar brackets or led lights.

How about halogen housings with LED bulbs? I've got extra sets of halogen fogs that I'd trade for some OEM LED fogs :)

These two sentences, copied from the product listing, are critical.

"Cutouts and mounting tabs for OE lights and aftermarket LEDs"
-and-
"It features a standard winch housing and provides mounting points for LED lights,..."

They make plain (particularly the first one) that the fitment issues you're experiencing shouldn't be occurring. Said differently, you can argue that, based on the ad copy, you purchased the bumper in good faith, expecting that your lights could be transferred over without issue.

Using just what I've quoted, above, it seems the vendor has the responsibility to resolve this matter to your satisfaction.

Thank you. This is exactly why this situation is so confounding to me.

This is the common annoyance I notice with building the 21. Lots of aftermarket companies are scummy and offer no assistance once purchased... I don’t think I will be modifying my 23 to the extent of 21 and ordered it mostly factory built up already.

I don’t want to deal with modifying someone else’s product to work as advertised or fix their crappy instagram lifestyle product that doesn’t have the quality to survive more then a few uses…

Hope the OP figures something out. I would suggest looking up pictures of Jeeps with the bumper installed and see what lights they are using.

Thanks, but the issue is that they are only designed for the one specific fog light but that isn’t mentioned. I have contacted them via email.

Hoping I don’t have to rig something up haha

Whenever I've had to go round and round with a vendor regarding a product dispute, many times I could walk the issue back to poorly worded ad copy, where a critical detail was stated obliquely, or not mentioned at all. In other words, poor writing skills.

I just did that yesterday with a vendor on this site. I didn't have any skin in the game, yet, but I wanted clarification on a garbled line on their webpage, which they diplomatically provided. Fair credit to them for the polite and timely response.

This thread seems to be just the latest example of the same issue. Hopefully it gets resolved in a manner acceptable to the OP.

The vendor is Aries Automotive which is also Curt and UWS.

I wonder if they are on here?

Did they just add this line in the notes?

"Models with factory steel front bumper will require the purchase of aftermarket fog lights (not included)"
