Hardtop Electrical Plug (red tab broken)

Any idea if the little red tab is available for the hardtop electrical plug on a 2018 JL Rubicon? The dealership says I will have to replace the entire wiring harness (p/n 82215312AE at $380).....hard to believe that red tab can't be replaced separately. If there isn't a replacement, is there a workaround to get it unplugged with the red tab missing?

I wouldn't worry about replacing it and just use a pick tool or small flathead to remove the harness.

If it’s gone, can’t you just pull it apart and push it together. I bet it will be fine without the red tab that locks it

I thought that type of plug you pushed in on the black part above the red tab and just pulled it down by the wires ? Just be careful as its easy to get mixed up on where it actually separates as some that look kinda like this separate in the middle and some right at the bottom and it becomes a -duh ! moment when the part you thought separated didn't.
The older JK ones had the red tab from hell ones on the doors which always stuck and the red tab usually landed on the floor all while you were standing on your head trying to reach it, but then they went to these on those later JK's which was soooo much easier once you realized what it was
Biggest problem you should have is keeping it together at the end of the summer which I'd suggest simple electrical tape around the seam

The dealer tells you that because it is the only way to fix it the right way. But it will probably be fine as is. Unless you can’t get to disconnect or stay together

Actually the red piece is a CPA or Connector Position Assurance latch. It’s a secondary latch to the main latching mechanism and is optional (and a pain in the ass). This particular style of CPA is not available separately as far as I can tell. Did I sound like Cliff Clavin from Cheers just then?
