So I’m looking to get a set of quick release thumb screws for my hard top. All sets I see are 6-pieces when there are really 8 bolts. Does everybody just do the main 6 bolts and fuck the two that are up by the freedom panels? Thanks for input

Is there even a thumb screw that’s compatible with the freedom panels? This seems like a better solution if you’re really in a hurry and it can be use for lots of other things

All the factory bolts are the same size so I imagine a thumb screw would fit. I'm not overly concerned about it...just figured I'd check and see if anyone's hard top came ripping off on the road because they didn't put screws in the front.

I don’t think there would be enough clearance for thumb screws at the freedom panels

that is why they only sell 6 vs 8

I don’t think I would run with out those 2 screws not worth the risk in my opinion

Right, but aren't the ones I linked the remaining two bolt locations you're asking about?

No...they go in from the top. All 8 bolts are identical. The holes are located at the back of the freedom panels.

I left one of the freedom bolts loose 2 days ago and I had so much creaking it wasn’t funny. I was amazed that the top could move around that much with just one bolt, so I definitely wouldn’t intentionally run without those two bolts in place personally.

Yeah like @2024-JLUR-X said it's a clearance issue and I too would not recommend running without those bolts in. Honestly the six screws really don't take that long to remove. Imo not worth spending money on it unless it's a cosmetic thing. The factory ones store so much nicer and again aren't that crazy to remove.
