I recently ordered a dual top 2024 Sport S 4xe and plan to take the hard top off almost immediately. I've been doing a lot of research into storage and wanted to do a hoist system, but after looking at the carport area with my dad, it was going to be too much of a project, as the roof had a lot of metal in it and some plastic siding that we were going to have to completely remove first. Luckily, I found someone nearby selling a Surco hard top cart for $85, which was a steal compared to buying a new one. So, I have that but am looking for a cover for it. I know I could just use a tarp, but I wanted to see if anyone had any other suggestions I could find. I saw the Bestop one on Amazon, although it's quite expensive, and the TopLift Pro one is made more for the top PLUS the lift. The top will be in a carport with two sides open to the air, so I'd like to keep it covered to keep the weather and leaves out of it.

Will it be indoors or out? For mine top on a hoist in my garage I toss some of the Harbor Freight moving blankets over the top to keep the dust and what not off. They are less that $10, and when folded in half are a perfect fit for the rear cargo area. I purchased a few of them to have

you could try and find a local boat cover maker. I used to have one by my house that had made a few custom covers for my boat and my families boats over the years. that way you can get a heavy canvas thats water tight and is soft on the inside

Having saved a bunch on the lift, I'd consider using my leftover for a well made, fitted cover like the bestop.

That's what I was planning on doing. I just was trying to see if there were any other options out there that people knew about. The Bestop carts and cover are no longer on their website, as I think they were discontinued when the JL came out, but I can find them on Amazon and other sites. I'm assuming it would fit over the top on the Surco cart, but I wasn't sure if it was more expensive now because there's limited availability.

I honestly would just use the tarp. You'll probably be spending around 300 for a purpose built cover that isn't really a necessity, it just looks nice. For myself, I would put that money towards other modifications and accessories that would bring me more enjoyment.

Maybe that’s what I’ll do and just keep an eye out for a used one on Facebook or Craigslist. I found the Surco cart for $85 and some OEM Sahara side steps in good condition for $50 the other day within 30 min of my house.

Blue or gray tarp. They were made for the elements in mind.

Some people bash the Sahara side steps. I was going to replace them myself fairly early in the build, but they have so far proven very good at protecting the jeep from idiots in parking lots. I may still replace them one day, but they've grown on me.

Yeah, I mainly wanted them for my 9 year old daughter and 5'3" wife. Plus, I don't like the look of the exposed brackets with the open holes on the Sport S when it doesn't have anything. It just looks unfinished. I may remove them or upgrade if I decide to take it offroad.
