I have the same harness with a 9 ft ceiling, works fine for me with a rubicon (stock height), but make sure you have enough clearance between the top of the hoist and where you're pulling. I'm cutting it really close and it's difficult to lower the roof.

nice, that doesn't look bad at all! i have a similar situation where i need to step up into the door and was worried it would be too low. having the rear window open definitely looks like it helps too

So I've got 10 ft 3in ceilings to work with in my garage. How much clearance is there under the hard top if you use a pully system like this?
https://www.quadratec.com/products/harken-hoister-garage-storage-jeep-jl-jk-tj-yj

I'm having trouble figuring out the dimensions of the hard top too.

thanks buds
My garage ceiling is approximately 9' and it lifts it high enough to pull in nose first under it, but I still have to duck to walk under it, so it's less than 6' off the ground...

The length of the knots might come into play. I have about 9 .5 feet to the joists in my garage. After installation my top was to low by a few inches to drive under it. I noticed that the knots were too long. The issue is how compact you can tie the knots. My neighbor is into sailing and helped me to tie them much more compactly. I think I will have enough room to lift my top and still back my Jeep under the hard top, will know for sure in a few weeks

Given your ceiling is higher I would think you will be ok

Here's a picture of a top being held up by a Top Lift Pro:

I'm not suggesting you buy (or don't buy) one. It's an excellent product. Rather, do appreciate that, like in this picture, you may only need to raise your hard top with the device you reference above to the height of your hood, not the entire vehicle.

I did a lot of research on hoists and was really bummed the Racor lift system was out of stock. I finally stumbled on https://www.fleximounts.com/overhead-garage-storage-racks/lift-4-x-4-gl44b/. I like this setup because I can put the freedom panels on top and use it to store the soft top in the winter. It was also a decent price compared to a lot of the others. I don’t have my Jeep yet, but I have this installed already. Using a cordless drill to attach to the arm for raising and lowering it is really nice.

I also got the topsy brackets because I like the idea of being able to have the glass closed. https://topsyproducts.com/collectio...s/products/hinge-hoist-bracket-kit-jlu-4-door. That site is actually where I found out about the hoist as it is their recommended hoist to use with their product.

I do think this won’t go as close to the ceiling as the harken, but I think you’re high enough it could work. I have 11’ ceilings and feel like there is plenty of room. Of course I don’t have the hardtop to hang from it yet to really know how it will be.

You’ll like the setup, I use the same hoist and brackets.
