Half Doors?

I am considering going the "DIY" route and building them myself. For anyone that has done this, what did it cost to get them painted?

piecing them together will be very expensive. About $7k before paint. You’re better off stalking the forums/CL/FB Marketplace.

I had a shop charge me $600 to repaint all 4 half doors, but I brought them to him stripped down already (mirrors, handles, door panel removed). I think I got what I paid for, though. It’s about 85% decent. I can tell the prep work on some of the hard to see spots was not the best. but they are summer doors and I can live with it.

2 other shops quoted me $1,200.

Quadratec’s prices are always higher than the online Mopar parts sites, put piece them together and get an idea of the cost.

Kinda like that special edition sports car... we removed the sound deadening, deleted the a/c, radio gone, spare tire tossed, rear seats missing, hand crank windows, zero creature comforts... all for the low price of costing more money!(???)

So... You got the white ones I was looking at. Such a shame to paint them. LOL. Seriously, I wasnt really looking unless they fell in my lap for way far south of 4K. I'm good with my RR doors.

Thanks for the paint prices, I have a 2 door so things are, roughly half for me.

I have a quote from AllMoparParts for the parts that comes out to just under $3k. That does not include the uppers from Besttop.

So, $3k parts + $534 windows +$600 paint = $3.8k, give or take.

A lot of money either way, but they sure do look cool

Since having half doors I don't have a strong desire to go doorless anymore. Doorless is fun, but if you're doing everyday life it can be a hassle too at times. Having half doors reduces that and with young kids helps prevent the dropped toy going bye bye for ever. If the toddlers get a hair up their hiney and decide to throw their shoes and socks out the side, well that is going to happen even with full doors if the windows are down. I live in the PNW so wheeling doorless is not fun w/ all the brush pushing into your vehicle, if I lived in the desert that would probably change my view on that.

Long shot: Anyone in Colorado have a 2 door Sarge Green JL on order that would be willing to add half-doors to your order (which I will pay for of course)?

I keep trying to split a set with someone that has a white set, they keep the rear ill buy the fronts lol

And now they are red! Any tips on how to mount the hinges so that I can adjust them to the Jeep and not damage the paint on the door? Mainly where the hinge bolts.

Done. Just need to adjust the soft windows.
