Gray Dash Panel Swap (Labor Estimate Help)

Should have my Wrangler delivered here in April and will likely be looking to swap out the Gray Dash Panel for the Leather/Vinyl option from Mopar (doing Katzkin install on delivery vs. factory leather).

1) Has anyone received quotes from dealers/shops for labor on something like this? If you've done it yourself, any estimate on the time it took would be helpful as well.

Ya, $1800 for a paint matched panel and some door handles is WAY too steep.

They quoted me 625 for 2 panels and 2 door handles

First time I did it took 1 hour. The second time about 30 minutes. That is off and back on. Not the time to paint.

Take them off yourself and drop them at a body shop. Should take you no more than an hour to do the removal and install. Paint shop my guess would charge between $120-$165 for the rework. Call around and ask but don’t pay anyone any thing near the pieces I see above on this sort of a project.

I just did this same swap. And yes takes about an hour the first time you do it. If you need to do it more than once it get much easier. Look up video of this process “JL dash removal”. When ordering dash panels, get on the phone with someone and confirm the correct part numbers. Even though these just came out, there are two different panels. I have one that didn’t fit my Jeep I’m looking to sell if you need.
