GPEC5 Blank ECU + VIN Programming - Where?

Hey guys,

Lurked on here for ages, first time posting!

I’m trying to source a blank GPEC5 ECU which can be programmed to my VIN and then unlocked by someone like HP Tuners or Livernois.

I run a 2024 Rubicon 3.6 which I mostly use for off-roading in the deserts of Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Given current world events I’m incredibly reluctant to remove my ECU and ship to the US for unlocking, and instead would like to buy a blank one, have it programmed to my VIN and then unlocked. Sadly HP and Livernois don’t offer this for GPEC5 ECUs (only unlock and return).

Does anyone have any suggestions for how I might be able to do this…?

Small bonus if you made it this far…this is what wheeling looks like out here…

just buy one from a dealer? hell, the dealer can even program it for you.

Dealer PCMs are relatively affordable. Just do that then ship it to HP Tuners. If you want to get tuned afterwards, hit me up. I'm one of the only people on the whole planet tuning the GPEC5 Wrangler at the moment (at least that I know of, it sounds cool at least )

Pretty sure the Dealer will do an in vehicle programming. They have no reason to have a bench setup.

The part# should be 68568654AB for under $200 online.

Dealer can program it to the vin#, you might need to find the right dealer that is willing though.

Then send to HPtuners for unlocking.

Then recal as desired.

Tuners won’t program it. It needs to have the software and VIN loaded at the dealer first, then sent off for unlocking. HP Tuners may offer cloning, but I’m not sure.

It isn't just the VIN. The PCM needs the secret key from the RFH transferred as well, otherwise the security will kick in and prevent it from starting. Hell, the PCM doesn't even need a VIN to function. It's only needed for the radio to avoid anti-theft lockout and for easy scan tool configuration retrieval without having to manually type it in.


Dealer can program all of this in like 10-15 minutes

Sure would be nice to have the second PCM to swap out, lol. I'd love to get our '24 tuned, the transmission shifting drives me crazy, plus a little more HP would be nice for the 37's, lol.
