Can I leave it in live preview on iPad and let it record?I got a GoPro 9 black recently and was thinking the same thing. You can stream video to you iPhone and would probably work to iPad also. However it will *not* stream while recording. So you can record or watch but not both.
That’s a great idea, I currently have my IPad setup on the passenger grab handle using a CMM mount. Going to have to get a new GoPro now also.Anyone tried a hood mounted GoPro and an iPad mini mounted near uconnect as trailcam? I am wondering if iPad app lets you stream camera live over bluetooth/wifi and if there is any lag.
No, as soon as you start recording the preview on your iPad goes black. Can I leave it in live preview on iPad and let it record?
You could do that but the preview is only 10 or 15 frames per second and at a lower resolution. Was looking at GoPro website and it appears previous generations DID allow for simultaneous live preview and recording.Doesn’t the iPad have screen record like an iPhone ?
Gaaah, getting two GoPro is too much. Hero 9 is $350 and Hero 7 is $200. Honestly any 720p camera should be enough for trailcam preview. But then you need to carry two sets of batteries because why would they make backward compatible batteries or anythingNo, as soon as you start recording the preview on your iPad goes black.
Hopefully that is true, if so I may just need a bios update on my camera. Please be sure to share your results.Just had a long chat to cancel my hero9 order with GoPro support, they swear that Hero9 can preview and record at the same time and asked me to receive my camera and try it first before returning it.
well… I kept the 9 and feel my way up the rocks when I don’t have a spotter lolok so after spending an hour with tech support, they admitted it doesn't work. now I have to decide to return and downgrade to Hero8 OR buy a $75 battery operated camera for trail cam only. what would you do?
