Go from 7to 8

i was thinking of upgrading from my 7 inch uconnect to the 8.4 and I guess what’s holding me back is never being able to update the software as it won’t show on the uconnect website to get software updates. Am I worrying over nothing ?

I would think you can still get updates from the dealer or someone could download the updated firmware for you and share it. For the dealer updates im sure you would have to pay for it.

I have the same question. I sent an email to infotainment.com. Will see what they come back with.

Have the dealer update your sale code and add it to your configuration. You will get all updates at that point.

Its a used 8.4 Im getting I doubt the dealer would add it but that is a good idea the other option was to go on dealers website find a JL that matches mine with the 8.4 and check the uconnect website for updates which it did show the current one. So If the unit Im getting doesn't have the latest this will get me there and on future updates Ill just have to see that I update before that VIN does

I wish there was some way to crack the software inside the radio and activate it... This would solve all problems...
