I like to keep my headlight switch in the auto position and not touch it. About every other day after driving my jeep the headlight switch has magically changed to another position. The dealer has replaced the switch, but it's still moving on its own. Has anyone else experienced this annoyance?

I noticed this too, but thought I was hitting it with my knee or something. Happened at least twice.

I too noticed that same behavior, but like other have figured out that I am or should say was hitting it with my knee upon exit. Of course I thought it was my wife turning it off when she drove it and she promptly corrected my thinking as usual.... ;-)

My wife and I both have JLs. She thought that I was turning her lights off sometimes and would only notice when she pulled out of the driveway in the morning and it was dark, so the dash was not lit up, which caused her to check the knob. Inoticed it in her JL before mine was delivered and then I noticed it in my JL a couple of times over the last few months. Since she is only 4ā€™ 11ā€ I doubt sheā€™s hitting her knee on the knob.

Hi RubiRedJL,
We can imagine why this may be frustrating. Please feel free to send us a private message if you plan to continue working with your dealer to have this addressed. We would be happy to assist you during this process.

Knee is the issue. Iā€™ve had this also.

I have an 18ā€™ MOAB with 4500 Miles on it and this has happened to me about 5 times now. I thought for awhile it was my 11 year old screwing with me. I believe it is the vibration of the door closing but I could be wrong. I canā€™t believe it would be from my kee or anyone elseā€™s because you would think you could feel it touch it.

It is most likely your knee. I sometimes hit it without realizing it when I get into the Jeep. If I step directly in I don't hit it. If step on the rock rail, I hit it quite a bit and change its position.

I donā€™t hit my knee on the light control knob in my JL. My wife doesnā€™t hit her knee on it in here JLā€”sheā€™s 4ā€™11-1/2ā€. It has to be a factor of vibration from closing the door.
