Trying to figure a few things out an hoping the collective brain trust here will help shed some light.

I have a 2019 JLUR, basically stock except ace sliders / winch/ lights etc.

I lightly off-road once every few months (rowher, miller cleghorn) in so cal.

I going to go to the Jeep academy adventure on the rubicon in august and hopefully a trip to Moab in the fall/winter

Just trying to fight out how to proceed

I am thinking about some skids (either Artec full or the rough county (half)) and to change to tires to some 315's

Not sure about a lift as I won't be able to fit in the garage if I do (not a game changer but more of an annoyance).

Ideas? Thanks in advance

What is your limiting factor when off road now? Are you scraping, and would that be alleviated by getting the belly up, or by adding skids?

You realize 315 is the width of the tire, not the height? Do you really want 12.5" - 13" wide tires, or do you want taller tires? Or, maybe you want both?

Generally, I would say run the shortest lift to fit the tallest tire you need to clear obstacles; however, taller tires may mean deeper gearing.

Right now for most of what I do no issue, Just a little bit os belly dragging. I also forgot that I have Ace sliders.

Just not sure if I need a little more height and belly protection if going to the rubicon or Moab.

I just don't want to beat up my jeep too much if possible.

Well, if that's the case, I'd put 34x10.5x17 BFG AT/KO2 on and be done with it...and then drive it like I stole it.

I can get some 35s (tires only) that my buddy is taking off his 392 for a decent price which is prob what I’ll do for the rubber

If you are going to do the Rubicon on 35's with no lift, considering the breakover angle of the JLUR, I'd suggest some good skid plates. I like Metal Cloak's but there are lots of good ones. Might come in handy at Moab too, depending on your choice of trails.
