Ok, so I'm looking for a front differential skid plate. I have a 19 JLUR with no lift, and don't plan on lifting. My problem is I want something that protects the diff, and pinion but I don't have to unbolt half of the cover to install I know they won't leak, and I know it's not a big deal. It's just not what I'm looking for. They make them for the rear that don't you don't have to do that with, why not the front? If anyone knows of one that's like that, please help me out.

Haven’t seen any for the front like that. Honestly just get a ranch one and it takes all of 5mins to install.

you only pull 4 bolts with the Rancho's, not that big of a deal. the real problem is the U-bolt is *just* barely long enough to install.

I noticed this too. I can’t remember what I did but tightening them down helped mold the u-bolt a bit to get enough thread through. I think I left a washer off of one side to help bend it, then removed and put the washer one and retightened.

yep each nut only went on about 1/2 thread. then I just went back and forth tightening until it was cinched down.

What about DV8s? In one pic it looks like it uses two bolts, and in another four.

Retired from Corrections....I have stories.
I have the Rancho skids on my 19 JLUR. I have pounded the crap out of them and they have held up well.

I did have to repaint them. That was my fault. Moab and the Rubicon trail was hard on them.

Installed a rear skid from Rancho today, no leaking from removing the 4 bolts. Didn't have issue with the U bolt part on the rear.

Yea fortunately the rear has a different piece instead of the u-bolt.
