I don't have one because I haven't yet found enough data to support a claim. You seem perfectly happy to hang your hat on nothing though, so...good for you I guess?
I said 5%. What's your percentage estimate?
Don’t confuse “Educated” with Intelligent, these days “Educated “ is more synonymous with “Indoctrinated” than Intelligent.Cheers. If you think the future is going to be kind to retired and uneducated truck drivers and the like, I truly wish those people the best. They're gonna need it the most!![]()

Keep talking. It’s helping me understand how people without either of those think about things.Don’t confuse “Educated” with Intelligent, these days “Educated “ is more synonymous with “Indoctrinated” than Intelligent.
Also, don’t confuse Knowledge with Intelligence, they’re not the same either

The fake DOE led by Rick Perry? So, we trust the government only when it supports our narrative, hmm?I guess I have a long wait then
5% is a consensus estimate, usually accompanied by an acknowledgement accurate data is scarce (mea culpa for not providing such a disclaimer in my original post).
The figure was, in fact, used by our DOE in a 2019 "Vehicle Technologies Office Research Plan to Reduce, Recycle, and Recover Critical Materials in Lithium-lon Batteries".
SOP for almost everyone these days. So, we trust the government only when it supports our narrative, hmm?
HAH. You've obviously never participated in graduate or later research...Those people measuring, studying, testing and examining are more than likely perpetuating their bloviated paychecks. Similar to defense contractors and others who continually lobby congressional bureaucrats for money. Regardless these are great discussions.

Uh…wasn’t me that was using outdated government reports to support poorly-informed opinions? Lol! Swing and a miss…
Self-contradict much?
Please share your updated statistics from the authentic Secretary of Energy.Uh…wasn’t me that was using outdated government reports to support poorly-informed opinions? Lol! Swing and a miss…

Ya I did use strong words but they are rooted in truth.I don't think they are. I'm mostly reading that as a "yes, but" kind of thing. Yes those are limitations of EVs, but they're not as bad as most people think they're going to be.
I think mainly where you ruffled some feathers is where you called EVs subpar goods, and that's what folks are defending against.
I agree that they're not perfectly interchangeable with ICE vehicles, especially in more rural areas and in as sprawling a country as the US. They do some things worse and some things better than ICE vehicles though, which makes them different, not "subpar."
There, that wasn't so hard now, was it?I guess I have a long wait then

... upon which current rates of recycling have no bearing....
The mineral components of these batteries are highly recyclable and the more there are in circulation and in different phases of an EV battery's lifecycle the less mining of new material will be required.
