Fog Lights Necessary / Delete Them?

Looking at my front bumper options and how many don't have cut-outs for fog lamps I'm wondering if I should just do without them.
While every car I've owned has had them I've never actually used them (I live in Southern CA), and I haven't been able to find a definitive legal requirement to have them. Looks more like a thing manufacturers add than a legal thing (?).

So what's the opinion, definitely keep or just do without? That does give me more bumper options.
And use the wiring for other light/switch options?

They are not required by law, but they are nice to have.

Most people will just mount a set of lights on the bumper, and use those as fog lights. We offer Square and Round lights that look great in that position all which plug into the factory wiring.

I’ve been pondering aftermarket fog lights that have standalone mounts like these:

That said, it would be really cool if someone would make an enclosure for the stock lights so we could mount them to an external mount on a bumper.

Hello - your small 12 and 14 inch light bar will plug into the factory fog light harness? I have a sport s and would love if I can turn on the light bar with the fog light ruction.
