So my passenger side a/c always blows super cold whether on auto or not. I ordered the motor ending in part 847 now knowing those go to the air redirect box, rather than temp control.

I replaced the air redirect motor, and suddenly I can't get 100% dash air like before. The most it will do is 50/50 dash/floor. So I put the old motor back in with the same result. I'm very confused as to why it's refusing to sync up with the display.

100% dash does 50/50 dash/feet
50/50 dash/feet does 100% feet
100% feet does 10/90 defrost/feet
50/50 defrost/feet does 10/90 defrost/feet

Also it seems like something is obstructing air flow to the dash. Max fan feels like level 2, and the air box makes a ton of noise.

I even manually rotated the distribution gear, bit there's no setting for 100% dash.

I opened the motor and manually set the start point, but it just reorients itself due to the design to the wrong spot.

Did you disconnect the batteries? I'm wondering if it needs to recalibrate that way.

No change. Also auto only throws air to the floor.

You have to disconnect both batteries if I am not mistaken.

Well, after watching a video on it I'll have to do that Friday.

Maybe a dumb suggestion, but did you go into the uConnect HVAC settings and toggle the "sync" button for passenger/driver temp controls? Once the passenger side temp is changed, I believe this is the only way to get both sides to not behave independently again.

Probably not the problem, but just something simple to check (completely forgot about the setting myself). And still not sure about manual, but in 'auto' HVAC mode, the A/C will still turn on whether the button light is illuminated or not.

Well the issue started with the passenger side blowing at 60 deg regardless of the temp setting. It's either 60 deg or heat. Synced or not.

You need to “clock” the actuator, when you replace it the heater box needs to be all the way in defrost when that new actuator is installed. It was probably not in the “park” position so now you have a weird mix of selections.

So I manually rotated the box to 100% defrost, set the hvac control to defrost, and even manually rotated the motor to match. No change. After connecting the harness, the motor is rotated to a different position, exhibiting the same weird distribution settings as before. Once I change from defrost, going back to it gives me an 80/20 defrost/floor split.

Update: when manually set to the indicator on the motor body, which aligns with the keyway when set to defrost, it will turn itself about 5 deg off when it's powered. I've manually set the air box to dash vents only, removed the motor, and ordered another one. I set a dealer appt for Friday but I may just let it ride until the new motor comes in.

AC is more complicated than EFI. I let dealer mess with it.
