After trying to do this on my own, and failing miserably, because I'm a total n00b, I went to the pros.

I work close to Main Line Overland (West Chester, PA), finally broke down and went to them.

They spent time going over my power needs, what an awesome experience!

100 amp hour, how many volts?

12?

so 1200 watt hours??
Watt hours is a much more useful number for most people.

It means 1200 W for one hour, or 120 watch for 10 hours, or 12 W for 100 hours, etc.

You’ll love that set up. Last summer I upgraded the house batteries in my RV. I went with three of the 200 AH LifeBlue LiFePO4 batteries. The LiFePO4 batteries are fantastic for many reasons. As you mentioned, they’re good for thousands of cycles in their lifetime, but you also get more usable power out of them (80% instead of 50% for lead acid batteries), and the LiFePO4 batteries take only a quarter of the time to recharge. That last benefit is very noticeable. A short trip with the solar panels and generator running and they’re topped back up! It feels like they can suck up all the power you can feed them.

The LifeBlue batteries also have Bluetooth, so you can check battery levels from your phone. It’s fantastic technology.
