After a few months of searching I've finally come across a used Wrangler for the right price, mileage, condition, etc. Very pleased with my new 2dr Sport in White.

After obsessing over these forums the past couple of weeks I think I've landed on 33" tires with a leveling kit on 15s for my first mods to the vehicle.

From a bit of reading it seems like 15s present some issues with offset and backspacing.. I guess im wondering if anyone could share their stories around this setup and any successes/challenges they came up against. Any into additional changes I should expect would be helpful.

Thanks all,
Andrew

Just ask @cosine he knows!
Congrats on finding the JL you were looking for, from what I've read 16s is the smallest you can run to clear the JL brakes but ???

As others' have said, the 15 inch wheels more than likely won't fit. This was also true with the JK. It was very hit or miss. Some fit while others didn't.

We haven't found a 16-inch wheel that clears the JL brakes and 15-inch wheels won't work at all .

Is anyone on this forum running aftermarket 16-inch wheels?

Congrats on the new ride, atagher!

Not 100% sure on his member name but something like "JIMBOX" (he's all over the site) runs chrome 16s on his JL.

Maybe it depends on which model. The Sport/Sport S has smaller brakes than the Rubicon.

He may be able to get away with 16s then. I'm happy with the bigger brakes. I used to add them on the JKs anyway. Nice little bonus now.

Yeah, when the time comes for new pads on my Sport I'll pony up the $$ and get the whole Rubicon brake pkg, seems to be pretty decent price over on rockauto.
