21 JL Sport S - Im going to delete my front splash guard, looking at an idea for the filler panels below the headlights.

Has anyone trimmed them and put the lower piece back on to protect fog lights and wiring?

I think I did what you are asking about.

I installed a baseplate so I can tow my Wrangler behind my RV. I got rid of the plastic guard but left the metal one. The wiring for the fog lights etc are protected by the plastic cover on the backside of the bumper.

I have towed and off roaded it like this with no issues. If you want additional photos just let me know.

I wish I had better pics, but I'm in the process of downloading a couple thousand from my phone to organize them, and delete unneeded ones.

The Hella lights are mounted to the frame beneath a filler panel, which I think is the one you are talking about. I cut holes in this one for the brackets that are attached to the frame I also ran the wire under this panel from the left to the right light.

Underneath the bumper, you can see that I'm set up to pull behind a motorhome. There are two tow loops, an electrical connection, and a breakaway loop, which all required me to modify the lower plastic panel.

Both of these panels are easily modified- or removed- by removing a bunch of plastic panel rivets and a couple screws. A search on YouTube for things like Jeep- remove bumper, or install tow bar will get you going in the right direction.
