Had planned on installing 285-70-17 KO3’s after the ARB bumper was put on.
For better clearance from the bumper to the fender flare, I put on Rubicon high rise fenders (thanks to Benny).

Have the standard Firestone MT 255-75-17’s on the Jeep still and now thinking I might need to go to a 34-35 instead of 33’s. Wheel wells now look like I missed leg day.

I want to keep the Willys Moab wheels. So backspacing may be an issue. Usage is 80-85% on road as a daily driver, but will see some beach and light trail usage.
Top and doors off in summer. Rubicon springs going on too. Gears are 3.45 but with the 8 peed AT and my usage, I don’t see a n issue for now.

I like the BFG brand, and thought 285-75-17 might be a good alternative, but they are only available in load range E.

In New England I need a good all weather tire.

Here is a view on the wheel well that needs to be filled out right. .

Help me fill it out right.

Great in the dirt, great on the highway and good grip in the rain.

Completely up to you, but I wouldn't concentrate on a standard view of fender gap, you want plenty of room for the axles to move around.

Some gives and takes with your options. Although you'll hear the Es ride rougher, in general adjusting to the correct tire pressure will get you closer to the same ride (you'll probably want to run the 75s a few psi lower than the 70s regardless). The bigger impacts are, of course, gearing and the 75 Es are going to be 10 lbs heavier a corner than the 70s. The weight will come with durability, though.

Your about 1.5" narrower at the axles with the Willys than a stock Rubi, but I think with the highlines you'll be okay. Worse case you can pad the steer stops a little.

I say if you want the taller tires, get them.

Load range C 285/75 Ridge Grapplers helped “fill the gap” on my Sahara. I added Rubi fenders as well, but I have the TF 1.5” leveling kit.
