Does the level of factory tint vary by state? I have a Rubicon X 4xe on order. I'm in FL and the dealer is as well. It has these options listed:

- Deep-Tint Sunscreen Windows
- Tinted Windshield Glass
- Front Door Tinted Glass

Anyone know what level of tinting is done on the windshield or front doors? Should I expect the glass on the front doors to match the rear doors? My last Wrangler (bought when I lived in another state) only came with tinted glass on the rear doors and hardtop.

Thank you.

Factory tint is all the same. The rear doors and top glass will be darker. Not sure what the tint % is/are

In my experience you will be much happier in the long run using a local reputable tint shop. Over time they will change color. Do you like rainbows or one same shade? Not to mention, they'll probably do a better job and use better material that will last much longer.

I've never seen a factory tint change color before.

Comparing a factory material to aftermarket was what I was suggesting. Having both makes on the same vehicle will change differently over time.

Gotcha. Yea I would use a local shop for a ceramic match vs. getting it done at the dealership. For now I was just trying to understand how it was going to show up from the factory based on the Tinted Windshield Glass and Front Door Tinted Glass options being listed. I've seen Jeeps on local lots that have all of the windows tinted, but I wasn't sure if they were added by the dealer or the factory.

I just received my Rubicon 4XE. The back glass is tinted darker than front from the factory. The tint % is listed right on the glass. My front states 70% minimum on the glass, not super dark by any means but good enough for me in Mass.

Not putting a meter on it, most factory rear windows are 13 to 15% in my experience with eh front and windshields being 70-80% depending on model/ manufacturer

The factory tint on Jeep vehicles is 20%. Keep in mind it it is strictly for privacy and offers no real heat or UV rejection properties. If you are looking for those qualities, you’ll want to step into a carbon or ceramic tint.

Deep tint sunscreen (factory) is the same percentage regardless of state. Tint laws only apply to the front two windows and windshield.

I had ceramic 35% added to the deep screen factory tint and 20% added to the two front windows. This provided my 4xe with an exact match. For extra heat reduction, you could explore having 70% installed on the windshield.

Check your state laws for the degree of window tint. Dealers will sell you whatever they can and you pay the ticket. For a better quality tint material and something that will be within the legal guidelines.... go to a place that exclusively does window tint. You don't want some part time detail guy at just above minimum wage doing your tint anyway.
