Im considering just the Transmission tune on my 2.0. The issue i might have is california emissions looking for tunes. I think they are looking at the ECU more than the TCM
I done several California Jeeps and none have had any issues come emissions time yet. I always recommend that people flash back to stock a few weeks before testing to be sure if they are worried about it. We don’t change the operating system or anything so there is no foot print other than a “flash counter” but even bone stock Jeeps can have elevated flash counters with software updates from the dealer.

So what am i looking at cost wise for Transmission only? Im currently using the Burger piggyback tuen system becuase im 2.0 E-torque
$200 to me for the tuning and revisions if needed. $200 to HP Tuners for 4 tuning credits. You’ll need a SGW bypass cable, Tazer, or the smart access cable from HP Tuners. Then the MPVI itself which is $400 new for a MPVI4 or you can find a used MPVI3 on marketplace for $100-$200. You can skip the ECU unlock service since we are only working on the TCM.

A little pricey which sucks honestly. It’s the biggest limitation of tuning on this platform because if the encryption Jeep uses.
