Anyone else's parking/e-brake stop engaging? It's a problem because...you know...seemingly the only way to prevent getting soaked when I open the door while it's raining is to park on an incline...
In the absence of a fully operational parking brake assembly, a mil spec set of wheel chocks may assist in the above noted scenario. An umbrella may work as well while one is exiting the vehicle.Anyone else's parking/e-brake stop engaging? I have a 2020 JLUR with a similar problem. The release button gets stuck and once the e - brake is in the up locked position, it is a bear to get down. So stuck it gets, that the dealership gave me back my Jeep told me to absolutely not engage the e - brake until my new e - brake assembly comes in for replacement. My Jeep had just hit the 1000 mile mark a little more than a month of ownership..Anyone else's parking/e-brake stop engaging? My 2018 JLU has just over 40k now. Had to replace rear pads 2x already. Last May it failed inspection due to parking brake not holding at idle. I adjusted myself and it passed, but now I need another sticker sometime next month and no matter how tight I adjust the tension it will not hold for shit. I already had ordered the shoes to handle this before this sticker, but seriously, what a pain in the ass. I've done brakes a million times, but when you start dealing with 35" tires, it's not as easy! Hopefully I can get the rotors off easily to access the shoes. And hopefully these PowerStop shoes last longer than 36k! Oh, and when I replaced the pads the first time the Jeep was still so new that parts stores didn't have them. Had to bend over at Jeep and buy from parts for $200! Ya, $200 for rear pads. I was bullshit, but I was squealing bad and only had a fingernail thickness of pad left on one of them, had to. Now I know, look for 2019 JL STANDARD brake pads and they're under $60...I really hope that the e-brake in the JLs is better than the JKs. Better as in, doesn't need to be rebuilt every year to pass state safety inspection the way my 2013 did.
