Im interested in running Dusy. They close it off for the year November 1. Late October can be cold. My brother can't get away until October. So the proposal is for sometime before the end of September October. Interest?

The trail closes on the south end on Oct 1.

So, the weather can be a bit wintery from now on to the closure of the trail. Here's a clip of the current through the next week of weather at Huntington Lake, which is lower than most of the trail.

Unfortunately PG&E this year is closing the Courtright entrance/exit on Oct 1 (the White Bark Vista entrance however will remain open, for whatever good that does). They are doing dam maintenance apparently. When I went in mid-August, there was all kinds of equipment staged up there. Once closed, that side is closed until some time next year.

I’d link the Facebook link I’ve got but I don’t know if that’s technically allowed.

Thanks for the information. I called the ranger district office and confirmed the closure. The trail will remain open from the Kaiser Pass - White Bark Vista end until November 1.

I'm very interested but not in a position to commit to this yet. Following this thread for now.
There's only a 17 day window to launch out of Courtright Reservoir before that end closes. While it's theoretically possible to start at the top of Kaiser Pass/White Bark Vista, go down and back up, it would be 66 miles on the trail and gas would be a big issue.
