DRL/Inner fender Delete

Has anyone deleted the daytime running light/turn signal and inner fender wells for more Tire clearance? I saw some running that way on 40’s on some Easter Jeep Safari videos. And I found a blog that said they are running 40’s on a 2 1/2” spacer lift with the liners removed. I like the looks a lot better without the DRL. I’m curious if you just pull the liner out, or if some trimming is required too? Also, is the fender supported good enough after removing the inner liner?

The inner fender separates fairly easy with minimal trimming. The fronts are a bit flimsy although Artec has a pretty cool fix for this with integrated turn signals coming out in the next week or so. I will be ordering the Artec fender braces for mine.

I’d use 3/4” led marker lights. Probably 2 ambers mounted in the grill below the headlights and towards the outside. Or better yet, mounted in the fender as long as the tire wouldn’t rip them out. I think 3 in each fender would look perfect!

What’s the legal terms for these 3/4 lights? I would run this in a heart beat if I didn’t think some cop in nyc / nj would pull me over and question me.

Appreciate the suggestion but those look too much like stock. I think if I’m going to go aftermarket might aswell get something different. But I looked up the laws and didn’t find anything to raise a red flag! Going to hit up a shop I know and see what they say! Thanks again
