Drill-less Exterior Fuel Mount

$400 for the JK drilled version before a Rotopax 4 gallon tanks/pack ($100) and mount $35 - $53, correct?

Add another $100 for the second 4 gallon pack and $24 for the extension to hold that second tank.

Something tells me the JL drilless version is likely to be more expensive.

But if offroading is your thing, this may be the way to go.

IMHO, this guy's got the right idea:



Drill thorough the hard top and seal it if necessary if you don't have this guy's roof rack. Buy the mounting plate http://rotopax.com/ , generic or Rotopax brand and accept that the tanks/packs and mounting hardware are a given either way.

Use the saved $ for something else.

Great--blocking the only rear window the driver can see out of(with spare)--and NO SPARE !!

Would something prevent this item from being assembled on the driver's side to address this visibility concern?

BINGO---that's the only way it would also be SOCIALLY LEGAL--

The drivers side rear window has always been the best(safest) spot for window displays/decals/stickers--etc
The space/window straight behind is always the "BLIND SPOT" for the AMERICAN AUTO DRIVER

Years ago, I even pre-planned for the installation of the gas can mounting in that same spot(drivers side), but I never did-it--too busy !
