Got a new JL but frustrated that the parts are just not out there yet? Well if you're like me and have zero patience and want it now this is for you. I had a dead pedal in my last jeep and i LOVED it. When I got my new Jeep i was sad to see not only was there wasn't one, but the one i had wouldn't fit. So doing some quick thinking I came up with a way to create one. Maybe someone will come up with a better one but this one works pretty well.
This requires you to only drill out (widen) an existing hold.
I used
2 - pieces of 13", 1 inch square tube (sign post tube)
1 - 5" 5/16 in bolt
1 - 4" 5/16 in bolt
2 - 5/16 nylon nut
2 - 5/16 washers
1 - 5/16 nut
1 - 13" of 2x2 wood
I cut 2, 1" square tube to a total length of 13" one end at 90 degrees on at 45 degrees
I then cut my 2x2 piece of wood the same 13" one end 90 one end 45
Drill 2 holes in in the wood where the holes will line up with the holes in the 1" tube
Then on the top hole put in your 5 inch bolt, near the bottom put in the 4 inch bolt
and add your nylon nut and tighten
Drill out the first hole in the aluminum brace on the Jeep to 5/16"
I used a 5" bolt with threads only on the first inch of the bolt. I then threaded on a 5/16 (non nylon) nut all the way to the and and then added a washer to it.
Then thread the 5" bolt into the brace hole using a washer on the other side of the aluminum brace and add your nylon nut. Tighten down and enjoy.
