Figured I’d pass this along. Amazon is offering 20% off Superwinch SX10SR. $608.00.

Superwinch 1710201 SX10SR 12V DC Winch 10,000 lb/4,536 kg Single Line Pull with Hawse Fairlead, 3/8in x 80ft Synthetic Rope, Corded Handheld and Wireless Remote https://a.co/d/37hU7GO

My order fell through on a smittybilt 10k, kinda glad it did after I found this?.

Or you could buy this guy for a little more than half the price and get a 13000 lb winch, which also comes with a fairlead:

I haven’t heard of the brand before. Is that one that you are using? Any major issues with it? I’ll stick with the SW, but I appreciate you passing along the info for anyone else that may be interested.

We've got the SX10SR and have been happy with it. FYI, if you haven't pulled the trigger. NR has the Warn Evo 10-S on sale for $599 right now.

That is the one I am using.

I haven't had to actually recover myself yet or anyone else for that matter, but there are quite a few reviews of it on YouTube. It's pretty good. I have no complaints with it so far. The (2) Bluetooth remotes are pretty handy too and the fact that it comes with a wired one if that breaks, or if you lose them. Only real downside is that FieryRed is quite clearly, from the name alone, a Chinese manufacturer. ?

I have a winch cover on mine just because it doesn't need to get dirty until I need it to get dirty, but the fact that you can keep it exposed to the elements with zero issues and have it still work is pretty nice.

Damn, this messed me up for a while today. I originally went with the superwinch after reading this article,

https://trailtacoma.com/2022/10/28/superwinch-sx10sr-10000-lb-12v-winch-install-review/

But once you posted the NR price on the Warn I started second guessing myself. Then I saw there is an additional $100 rebate on the warn making the price $499. Since the superwinch hadn’t shipped and I could still cancel the order I spent a ton of time I didn’t have today going back and forth in comparisons specs etc…essentially driving myself crazy.

After countless hours, doing additional research on the warn wireless control app and warn epic hook, I finally broke down and went to order the Warn because I couldn’t resist the Warn nameplate.

I made one final check with my Superwinch order and discovered it had just shipped, I also saw that the NR warn was now back ordered due to my inaction. I called NR and they said it would take 10 to 15 days to ship while back ordered for anyone still interested:

So I wasted time for nothing apparently. But I figure my wasted time might help some others. Heres a breakdown between both of winches.

Weight: SW-61lbs / Warn-72lbs

Water resistance: both IP-68

Controllers: SW - wired and wireless / Warn - wired only

Control box: SW - solenoid / Warn Albright contactor (more reliable and less prone to failure)

Line: SW - Synthetic 80’ with first 10’ feet covered in sheathing / Warn synthetic 90’

Warranty: SW limited lifetime mechanical warranty + 7-year limited electrical
/ Warn - Limited lifetime warranty for mechanical parts and 7 years on the electrical

in the end the Warn is quite a deal and if the Superwinch hadn’t shipped I would have bailed and bought the warn. But I’m waiting on the winch to install a bumper so the sooner it comes in the better.

Thanks @GATORB8 for causing me some serious angst today??‍??

Yeah the extra $100 rebate on the Warn pushed me over the edge, so ordered from Northridge today. I'm not in a big hurry for it, so the backordered status doesn't bother me.

Thanks for the order. With the sale price and the $100 rebate we are getting a ton of orders. But don’t worry it won’t take long to ship we have them enroute already and it will ship the day it arrives.

Sorry...

I never saved it, but you should have seen the spreadsheet I made when I was overanalyzing my winch decision. I was comparing amperage efficiency and everything. Took a while to get the info on all the options.

That red W is tempting, but I think you'll be happy with the SW. The wireless controller is super handy, and it's been solid for us for almost two years and a dozen or so self recoveries.

If you're considering swapping out the hook, we use the Mile Marker 60-12166 Winch Shackle Mount. It basically just makes the thimble usable as a D-ring anchor so it eliminates the extra connection point in the F55 Prolink or Flatlink (doesn't hurt it's 1/4 of the price).

Lol, it’s good to know I am not alone in my Jeep parts obsession. I approached my wife several times today about my dilemma and received a dull blank stare. She humored me for a few minutes asking some benign questions, but it was clear she was attempting to get me to stop talking. As a side note, I’d love to see that spreadsheet!
