It seems that the previous owner was curious about what was under the cover of the cup holder lamp located in between the two depressions where the cups sit and managed to break it. I ordered a replacement part and before I go out to try to change it, I have a question.

It looks like it is held in with a locking tab on each side. Since the cover is broke off, I should be able to use a pick to release them and lift it out. I am wondering if I will be able to reach the electrical connector once the lamp is removed? If not what's the procedure to access the connector?

Hey @NeilP, what was your process in removing the lamp connector to put the new one in? I’m at the dealer picking up the part.

You will need a set of plastic trim tools. I inserted the pry tools at the front by the shift lever & worked my way to the rear. Once you get it unsnapped, you can move it a bit to the side and unplug the light wire. (you don't need to remove it from gear selector, theres plenty of room to work just by unclipping it.

There is a oblong black plastic retainer on the underside of the console cover that holds the lamp in place. Since my cover was already broken off of my lamp, I used an O ring pick to pry the tabs back to release the lamp from the top, you may have to do it from underneath. At that point your old lamp is free.

Put the new lamp into the hole, snap the retainer back onto the light, plug in the wire (TURN YOUR LIGHTS ON TO SEE IF THE LIGHT IS WORKING), if it is, snap the console cover back into place, sit back and admire your work.
