Does anyone know the purpose of the hole molded into the bottom of the factory coolant tank? It was obviously designed this way and even has a cutout in the mounting bracket.

Mine is dripping some fluid. Nothing significant, but it’s annoying.

You ever get an answer? I just noticed this on my gladiator. Noticed it has leaked from there before

Gotta be a breather, If it's leaking , and bothering you . thread a small brass, or plastic 90 in it , route a 1/4 hose to a higher location! Just a thought.

This is the overflow hole. If the pressure rises too much from overheating (or overfilled) the cap will expand just enough for the fluid to get into this hole and leak out. Pop your cap off and you'll see the top of the hole by the threads. These caps don't pop up and start spraying like the old school caps do.

I thought so! Thanks . I noticed it dripped some when I filled her up one day. Might’ve went over a bit past max or got a little in the hole causing it to drip a little. Thought it was the connector on the bottom of the reservoir at first.

Well I’ll be darned! I never noticed that little slit where the cap rests. I thought the tube coming off the top of the reservoir was the overflow, but notice today that it goes down and T’s into another tube.
